ATG and the U of I College of Law co-hosted a reception to honor Champaign attorney and long-time ATG Board Member Ward F. McDonald. ATG established a law school scholarship in Ward’s honor, marking his 40th year in the practice of law and his many contributions to the College of Law as Adjunct Professor, ATG, and the profession. The scholarship will be awarded to a 3L student who completed or enrolled in the Real Estate Finance course offered at the College of Law, is in good academic standing, and displays a passion and initiative for real estate law.

 

ATG has committed to $25,000 over five (5) years to assist in establishing the scholarship. Ward has also committed to yearly gifts and has made provisions in his estate to support the scholarship. To endow the scholarship, a total of $50,000 is needed. In agreement with University of Illinois guidelines, a 4% draw will be taken from the principal amount on a yearly basis. A $50,000 scholarship fund will yield a scholarship of $2,500. We are confident that this fund will continue to grow through the years.
