This broad overview and explanation of the insuring provisions and exceptions to the title commitment will help you and your staff establish procedures to more efficiently prepare title commitments and policies. Topics include the following:
  • How to determine issues of insurability;
  • How to waive exceptions dealing with taxes, mortgages, mechanic's liens, and judgments;
  • What procedures to implement for insuring over survey exceptions; and
  • Which exceptions should stay on the commitment and why.

ATG is an Illinois Accredited Continuing Legal Education Provider. This program qualifies for 1.50 hours of MCLE credit in Illinois. We will apply for credit in Indiana and Wisconsin.

  • $50 | Active ATG member attorneys (*issued and remitted at least one policy during the current year)
  • $25 | Paralegals and staff employed by active ATG member attorneys
  • $95 | Inactive ATG member attorneys and their paralegals and staff; non-member attorneys; others
