Fundamentals of Title Insurance - Wisconsin

PROGRAM SUMMARY:

This two-part program focuses on the contractual rights and obligations created in a title insurance policy. It provides a substantive review of the insuring provisions contained in the owners and loan policy with a discussion of the covered risks, exclusions, conditions of insurance, as well as, the contents of Schedule A, Schedule B, and commonly issued endorsements. The speaker also covers state and federal regulations and ethical considerations when issuing title insurance. Discussions include the following:
  • A comprehensive overview of the owners and loan policy, commitment and commonly issued endorsements.
  • A review of the Supreme Court Rules and ethical considerations when providing dual services as a title insurance agent and real estate attorney.
  • A general review of the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) including the regulations concerning Affiliated Business Arrangements.
This program meets the Office of Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) attorney educational requirements to obtain a Wisconsin Title Insurance license.

CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION INFORMATION:

ATG is an Illinois Accredited Continuing Legal Education Provider. This program qualifies for 6.00 CLE hours in Wisconsin. It also satisfies the attorney educational requirements to obtain an OCI Wisconsin Title Insurance license. You must complete both sessions for full credit.
