Kelli A. Fogarty

Kelli Fogarty is a well-known real estate lawyer (Fogarty & Fugate, LLC), title agent, and the founder and president of the Chicagoland Association of Real Estate Attorneys (AREA), an organization dedicated to supporting real estate attorneys.

We are excited to have her as part of our leadership team. Great things are on the horizon!

Join Me in Welcoming Kelli Fogarty to Advocus

We are delighted to have Kelli on board! In this new role, Kelli will lend a practicing attorney’s perspective to the already exemplary level of service Advocus provides its attorney agents by working closely with our internal teams. Drawing on her 20+ year career, sharing her insight on the needs and concerns of today’s real estate attorneys will be invaluable as we plan for the future. In addition, her energy, intelligence, and passion will give a new voice to our mission of supporting attorneys.

As the founder and president of the Association of Real Estate Attorneys (AREA), Kelli embodies the virtues that are central to our founding principles and continuing mission. She is driven by her dedication to the strong belief that all consumers should have access to legal counsel in what is typically the largest and most complex transaction of their lives. Supporting real estate attorneys' needs will ensure that consumers continue to have this access.

Kelli plans to further the storied Advocus tradition of advocating for attorneys so they can advocate for consumers. With her leadership, Advocus can help ensure that the next generation of lawyers is equipped to meet the ever-changing needs of real estate consumers while maintaining a work-life balance that allows a long and healthy career.

Kelli will serve as of counsel to her law firm as she navigates into this new role. However, she will be handing over the AREA reins to her very supportive board of directors. Through her new role at Advocus, Kelli will be able to expand and continue her work to promote the value and consumer protections that attorneys bring to the real estate closing process, making sure attorneys have a seat at the closing table for generations to come.

Kelli's Thoughts on Her New Role

"To be clear, my purpose is not to sell to or recruit attorneys, I am not a salesperson. Attorneys are well equipped to make their own business decisions about what is best for their practices. However, I am in this role to continue to work toward ensuring that real estate attorneys have a strong voice and advocate to make certain that consumers and the real estate community at large are aware of the value we add to the process. A value and service that ensures our market continues to remain strong because consumers have confidence in the closing process. If my new role shows my colleagues that for 60 years Advocus has been working to make sure real estate attorneys don't just thrive, but flourish—then I will consider it to be a great achievement. Cheers to the next 60 years of a strong community of attorneys dedicated to protecting consumers."

I am beyond excited about my new role at Advocus. It will afford me the opportunity to continue to work on something I'm passionate about—elevating the value of the attorney's role in the closing process—while remaining active in my practice and serving my clients.
