Recording Fees Increased Due to New Ordinance
REMINDER: Effective June 1, 2025, documents to be recorded in DuPage County, Illinois, are subject to increased recording fees based on the passage of County Ordinance FI-O-0001-25, which amends the Geographic Information System fee, increasing the fee from $21 to $31 per document.
New fee structure:
- $86 fee for most real estate related documents that meet recording format requirements
- $112 fee for documents that do not meet the recording format requirements
- $67 fee for non-real estate related documents

Final Multiplier Announced for 2024 Property Taxes
The Illinois Department of Revenue announced last week the finalized 2024 Cook County property tax equalization factor of 3.0355.The equalization factor, also referred to as the multiplier, is calculated to achieve uniform property assessment throughout the state of Illinois.
