COVID-19: ATG Update #3 - Downstate Procedures

ATG Agents in Illinois Counties South of I-80

We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely. We are conducting closings in all ATG offices and are committed to doing everything we can to serve our stakeholders.

These basic safety precautions are in place in all ATG-owned offices:

  • Observing CDC guidance for countering the spread of illness.
  • Disinfecting surfaces, daily.
  • Disinfecting closing rooms after each closing.
  • Allowing certain employees to work from home with secure equipment and established protocol in accordance with our Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.

NEW precautions since our last update:

  • Gloves: If you wish to use them, you will be able to pick up a pair from your closer.
  • Pens: As always, we'll provide them — but no reusing! Take them with you or dispose of them after your closing.
  • Unnecessary Items in Closing Rooms: As part of our deep clean, we've removed a few things. If there is something you need that is no longer out, let us know.

Suggestions for Sellers' Attorneys

Original, Seller-Signed Documents: Please reach out to us if your clients are unable or unwilling to attend a closing. We are happy to provide you with a return label prior to closing so you can send original, seller-signed documents to the closing. In Champaign-Urbana and in our Metro East market we are also happy to work with you on drop off or pick up options for seller-signed documents.

Seller Proceeds and Agent Checks: While we all work through this, ATG will send seller proceeds via overnight or wire delivery for no charge. In addition, we will send your title and attorney checks via overnight delivery for no charge or provide for pick up or delivery in Champaign-Urbana and our Metro East market. Our experienced staff and closers will communicate with you during the entire process via email and phone.

Suggestions for Buyers' Attorneys

Power of Attorney: If possible, please contact your clients and their lender to request power of attorney approval. Obtaining POA prior to closing will limit the number of people attending the closing.

Suggestions for Limiting Attendance at Closings

Please consider whether or not the Realtors need to attend closing. We are happy to make commission checks available for pick up or delivery in Champaign-Urbana. In addition, consider discouraging the attendance of non-essential parties.
