The Anti-Predatory Lending Database Program, which applies to certain residential property in Cook County, Illinois, has gone into effect. As of July 1, 2008, a Certificate of Compliance or Certificate of Exemption must be attached to the mortgage in order to record any mortgage against qualifying Cook County property.
 
This OnLine program reviews the recording procedures and other information attorneys and closers need to know to comply with the new rules. The speakers will cover the following:
  • What the statute involves, recording procedures, and other requirements;
  • When and how to procure a Certificate of Compliance or Certificate of Exemption; and
  • How to use the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation website, including a demonstration of procuring the correct certificate.
This program is recommended for ATG member attorneys, member closers, and member's employees who conduct closings on property in Cook County, Illinois.
