Title Underwriters to Collect "Property Type" Information

Beginning in 2012, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is requiring title insurance underwriters to collect property type information for each policy reported. The NAIC has two designations: residential (one- to four-family) and commercial (all other types).

To facilitate the collection of this information, the property-type choices have been added to the Property tab of Order Entry in ATG REsource®:

Please select the appropriate option in Property Type for all files. The collection of this information is for data collection purposes only. Additionally, the property types have been added to the Accounting Information Schedule (AIS), which is available in REsource and on the ATG website for those not using REsource.

If you have any questions about reporting this information please contact the ATG HelpDesk. Thank you.
