Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Requirements
Attorneys are required to take a certain number of continuing legal education hours as follows:

Illinois - 20 hours of CLE activity during the first two-year reporting period (ending in mid-2008 or mid-2009), 24 hours of CLE activities during the second two-year reporting period (ending in mid-2010 or mid-2011), and 30 hours of CLE activity during all subsequent two-year reporting periods. A minimum of four of the total hours required for any two-year reporting period must be in the area of professionalism, issues involving diversity, mental illness and addiction issues, civility or legal ethics.

Indiana - at least 6 hours of approved CLE per year and at least 36 hours of approved CLE per three-year cycle. Also at least 3 hours of ethics credit anytime within the three-year cycle; and

Wisconsin - 30 hours every two calendar years. Three of the 30 need to be legal ethics and professional responsibility (EPR).
