Business Entities and Series LLCs

PROGRAM SUMMARY:

An important decision for any buyer of commercial and investment real estate is the method by which the buyer will take title to the property. This program will focus on common methods of taking title to commercial and investment real estate, including corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies, with an emphasis on Illinois' newest type of business organization — series LLCs. This program includes a discussion of the following:

  • General overview of the various methods of taking title to commercial and investment real estate
  • Organization of various business entities:
      – Statutory authority

      – Pros and cons

      – Forms used to organize an LLC and series LLC
  • Title issues involved in underwriting business entities

CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION INFORMATION:

ATG is an Illinois Accredited Continuing Legal Education Provider. This program qualifies for 3.00 hours for the OnSite session (2.00 hours for the Connect session) of MCLE credit in Illinois. We have applied for CLE credit in Wisconsin and Indiana.
