ATG's 15th Annual Levine Institute for Real Estate and Estate Planning Attorneys

Our thanks to all who joined us for our 15th Annual Harold I. Levine Real Estate Institute at the Drury Lane Conference Center in Oakbrook Terrace. It was great to see so many colleagues and friends (200+) at our biggest legal education event of the year. Our topic, Insights into Technology, Regulations, Cybersecurity, and Other Issues Confronting Your Real Estate and Trust Practices, generated interesting questions and lively discussion.

ATG and ATG Trust again partnered to present a full-day program to cover topics important to both real estate and estate planning attorneys. Along with our experienced staff, our speaker panel included these special guests:

ATG's Jerry Gorman, moderator and coordinator of all aspects of the annual program, presented the new ALTA owner's and loan policies, due out in 2020.

Covering the impacts of changing technology and new/changing regulations on real estate lawyers are Chris Burhans, ATG Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (Chicago); Deb Feinen, ATG Vice President - Downstate Operations (Champaign, Ill.), Jerry Gorman, Director, ATG Legal Education (Champaign, Ill.), and Christine Sparks, ATG Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (Chicago).

Guy DeFrances, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, CATIC (Connecticut Attorneys' Title Insurance Co., Rocky Hill, Conn.) and ATG CEO Peter Birnbaum.

Chris Burhans, ATG Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (Chicago), discusses the innovations and efficiencies ATG GO brings to real estate transactions.

The morning's first session, What's New at ALTA, included Peter Birnbaum, ATG President and CEO (Chicago), Julio Bermudez, Partner, Thompson Flanagan (Plainfield, Ill.), and Hank Shulruff, ATG Senior Vice President (Chicago). Topics included new title nsurance forms, regulations, and best practices. Julio Bermudez covered cyber protection techniques and insurance options.

Another great turnout.
