A Holiday Message from ATG President Peter Birnbaum

Putting a Memorable Year in Perspective

2020 was a year unlike any other. The pandemic, followed by protests over race relations, and then a highly contested election.

Despite the challenges, there is much to appreciate. At home, more time to connect with loved ones, reach out to those who may need a kind word. At work, an opportunity to rethink our processes. Some good things have emerged. ATG's Christine Sparks recently said it best when summing up 2020: Resilience. Resilience of our innovative and dedicated member agents who made sure their clients, headed into the largest financial transaction of their lives, felt the assurance of having a trusted advisor at their side—even via Zoom calls and masked meetings. Resilience of our employees who serve those agents and clients every day.

We're all affected by the economic realities of the pandemic, but even still, there are many promising signs. ATG order volume has rebounded, our offices are busy with closings, our phones are ringing. With a vaccine in sight, the elusive trait that best defines the American experience prevails: Optimism.

We are optimistic and excited about the future of ATG. We continue to innovate and provide exceptional service while maintaining safe conditions for our member agents, employees, and other stakeholders.

I wish you all the best health and happiness over this holiday season and in the new year as we continue to collaborate to successfully navigate changing conditions. I look forward to the day when we can see each other face to face and celebrate the great company we built together.

Peter J. Birnbaum
President and Chief Executive Officer
