ATG's 2021 Employee Appreciation Event

On March 4, 2021, we held our first-ever online Employee Appreciation event for the ATG Family of Companies! Team members enjoyed a live magician, a challenging trivia competition, a raffle, the presentation of our annual Employee Recognition awards (see below), and small-group breakout sessions to connect with co-workers.

The evening was a big success with more than 100 employees in attendance plus several spouses and kids. The magician was amazing—no one understands the Rubik's Cube trick, and it turns out we have a number of trivia masters on staff. Ed Sudlow of our Corporate Communications Department was the overall winner. Congratulations, Ed! Our thanks to Eric Wilzig of The Extreme Magic of Eric Wilzig as well as our friends at Lulafit.

Employee Recognition

One of the highlights of our Employee Appreciation event was the presentation of our Peak of Exellence awards for 2020 performance. Thirty-seven (37) employees were nominated by co-workers based on the following criteria: demonstrating superior work standards; delivering noteworthy service to agents and customers; pursuing learning and innovation; and making significant contributions to ATG's success through performance and leadership skills.

2021 Peak of Excellence recipients based on 2020 performance:

Kathie Butts photoKathie Butts, Vice President Operations and Business Manager, ATG Trust
"As an original employee of the trust company, Kathie has held many roles over the past 22 years. She started out as a one-woman trust operations department handling every aspect of the company's operations needs. During 2020, her operational know-how was unbelievably critical in our ability to service clients and maintain required regulatory oversight. While everyone has been incredibly adaptable and helpful during the work-from-home period, Kathie's efforts truly impacted every employee within the trust company and each client with whom we work." – Chris LaPorta, ATG Trust Vice President Investment and Operations

Jessica Fish photoJessica Fish, Claims Assistant, ATG Champaign Office
"Jessica Fish, especially during COVID, has been the hub of the wheel that is the Claims Department. I have been an attorney for a long time and I have had many secretaries, legal assistants, receptionists, law clerks and associate attorneys work with and for me. I am a good judge of the character and competence of employees. Jessica Fish is without a doubt a superior colleague and one of the very best. She makes my work better and I am thankful to work with her." Traci Nally, Senior Manager, ATG Legal - Claims

"Several employees reached out to me during the year to tell me what a great job Frank was doing and how much they appreciated his help during this difficult time. They were impressed with his willingness to help and his positive attitude. Frank's funny and cheerful personality brightens everyone's day. He puts smiles on faces and makes everyone feel welcome. I truly believe Frank contributed to the success of ATG and subsidiaries in 2020." Marie Duhig, Manager, ATG Regional Company Services

Brenda Wernicke photoBrenda Wernicke, Closing Specialist, ATG Wisconsin Office
"Brenda is a relatively new employee who started with ATG in September 2018 with limited closing experience. In a very difficult year, she displayed the type of loyalty and determination that is worthy of this award. During the 2020 busy season, Brenda, without hesitation, took on most of the closing preparation duties and excelled at making sure our closings were completed on time and error-free, under a very busy workload. I cannot stress enough how critical she was to our closing operations success in 2020." – Tom Cullen, ATG Vice President and Managing Attorney, Wisconsin Operations

Our congratulations to the four recipients as well as all other nominees—standouts from an exceptional team during an exceptional year!
