ATG Board Chairman William Austin Retires

Long-Time Agent, Director, and Friend

It was a bittersweet moment to convey the news of William W. Austin’s retirement from the ATG Board of Directors. During his 35 years of service on the board, he served on many committees and held other offices including two terms as Chairman (2003–2008, 2016–2020). He was always a thoughtful listener, assessing the situation before offering his measured counsel.

We cannot begin to thank Bill for his devotion and leadership over the years. In addition to his stellar legal career, Bill was a Brigadier General in the Illinois National Guard. In that role he led the planning and training for the mobilization of the troops under his command. Bill brought that skill set to the leadership of our board.

Bill was deeply devoted to our mission of being the premier lawyer service organization for the benefit of the public. Read more...
