Tania M.S. Stori, Years of Service banner

In Recognition of Tania M.S. Stori

Years of Service: 1996 – 2020

ATG recently said good bye to Tania Stori, Vice President - Claims and Litigation. We wish Tania all the best as she begins a new phase that will include more time with her husband and their two teenage children. We will miss her, as we know our member-agents will!

Like many on the ATG Legal staff, Tania learned real estate transactions and title matters from every possible angle—as Law Clerk, Staff Attorney, and Vice President, to name a few of her roles. In 2017, Tania took over as top claims counsel when Mike Brandt retired after 35 years of service."I was fortunate to have worked with Mike for many years before taking that on, he was a great teacher. I had so many memorable experiences at ATG with co-workers and members, I feel like we did a lot of important work together. I'm grateful to have had those opportunities with so many great people." In the VP-Claims role, Tania took on claims analysis, settlement, and litigation. Given her extensive experience, she was well suited, had knowledge of all aspects of the real estate transaction, understood insurability and risk assessment, and was active in the regulatory environment. In addition, she was a contributing author to the IICLE's Commercial Real Estate and IICLE's Illinois Mortgage Foreclosure Practice, served on the Illinois Land Title Association Board of Directors (including chairing its Title Counsel Committee) and was a frequent speaker for ATG Legal Education seminars. Tania was a and trusted colleague to all ATG members in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana as well as to her ATG coworkers, many of whom became friends.

Since circumstances prohibit an in-person celebration to bid Tania farewell, many ATG employees surprised her during her last Underwriting Department meeting, via Zoom. There were tributes and heartfelt comments as well as funny anecdotes from many shared experiences. “We will miss Tania’s brilliant legal mind, calm and logical approach to problem-solving, and the many other qualities that made her a joy to work with over the last 24 years,” said Augie Butera, ATG Senior Vice President and General Counsel. ATG’s Claims Department is managed by attorney Traci Nally, Senior Manager – Claims and Legal. We know many of our member agents who have enjoyed long-term professional relationships with Tania will want to wish her well — send Tania a note.
