The City of Elmhurst Real Estate Transfer Tax shall not apply to those transactions or transfers exempt from the tax imposed by the State of Illinois Real Estate Transfer Tax Law (35 ILCS 200/31-1 et seq.). The basis for the exemption is to appear on the face of the deed, but such deed or other transfer document need not be submitted to the City, nor is any revenue stamp or exemption mark required. Arrangements must be made for a final meter reading by calling 630.530.3111 or 630.530.3110. To make arrangements for sump pump inspection, please call 630.530.3020.
